Learn, Rise,
Inspire

At BLC Community Services, we believe education is a powerful tool for hope and transformation. Our Education pillar supports both young learners and adults -- including helping students keep up with schoolwork, and equipping adults with life skills to navigate the challenges of parenting, aging and leaving a legacy.

Through tutoring programmes, workshops and mentorship, we create supportive learning environments where individuals can grow in confidence, build resilience and discover their potential. Everyone has a next step -- and we’re here to walk with you as you take it.

English Class for P1-P3 Students

BLC Community Services offers a weekly 2-hour programme on Saturday afternoons during the MOE school term, for Primary 1-3 students who speak English as a second language (ESL).

Our classes include:

- oral practice

- listening comprehension

- real-life role-playing

- writing skills.

It also helps students to develop confidence in their studies, improve their communication and social skills, and learn values to guide them in life.

To ensure each child receives the support they need, we invite parents to meet with our team for an initial assessment.

The Power of Notes - Techniques for Smarter Learning

Turning ideas into visuals that stick

In this hands-on learning session, experienced teachers guide Primary 5 to Secondary 4 students to discover how drawing, mapping and designing their own visual aids can boost understanding and memory.

Participants will learn practical techniques to organise information clearly, turn concepts into simple visuals and create study notes that make revision easier and more enjoyable.

It’s a creative way to build confidence in learning — and have fun while doing it.

Supporting Children Through Stress: A Parent's Guide

Supporting children through the pressures of school life

This interactive 1.5-hour session is created for parents of participants in The Power of Notes workshop, helping families strengthen learning and wellbeing together. Guided by Senior Clinical Psychologist Dr Goh Ci’An, parents will explore how stress shows up in children’s emotions and behaviour, and discover practical strategies to support them at home.

It’s a space for parents to take a breather, gain fresh insights, and feel equipped to help their children navigate the demands of growing up — with confidence and care.

When parents thrive, children do too.

VOICE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS

Sharing knowledge,
Shaping
values

“Volunteering to teach children English has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Seeing the progress these young learners make, whether it's improving their vocabulary or gaining the confidence to speak, reminds me of the powerful impact education can have.”
